Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification.
Hands on experience supporting PBX phone systems.

Our client seeks a Telecommunications Specialist for a newly awarded contract to provide Base Telecom Support in Everett, WA. The effort will provide telecommunications operations and maintenance (O&M). This includes secure and reliable, classified and unclassified, voice and data services in support of Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Information (C4I) operations and exercises.

Essential functions will include:

• Operate and maintain government-owned telephony switches (PBX), including:
• Avaya Systems CM4.0
• Troubleshooting and repair of switch issues
• Software updates and patching
• Installation and configuration of switch hardware
• Daily operation monitoring
• Support for voicemail systems and IPE (Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment)
• Utilize company vehicle to travel to remote locations weekly.
• Ensure switch systems remain fully operational and compliant with DoD/Navy standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity (preferred)
• Years of experience 2 years of experience required. 5 years preferred.
• Prior experience within DoD networks.

Skills or certifications

• Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS) or equivalent(highly preferred)
• Nortel Meridian System Administration or equivalent(required)
• IAT Level II (per DoD 8570.01-M)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
