Job Overview
The role of the Laborer Helper is to provide day-to-day installation support for a variety of RF, audio, video, computers and communication system integration and installation in productions facilities/laboratories and ships. Support will include but not be limited to cable and equipment removal, wiring, cable making, connector assembly, system equipment and metal work assembly, use of test equipment. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Job Overview

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
The applicant will perform a portion of the following:
- Working closely with the government sponsor(s) and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities
- Assist with mechanical systems integration assembly, installations such as equipment racks, components
- Keep manager and supervisors apprised of their progress and completion of individual tasks, request new tasks when complete, maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures
Accountable For:
- Ability for work to be conducted in a timely and professional manner.
- We expect the employee to be a self-starter and to pursue self-education to remain current with industry trends, new technology, new equipment and capabilities
- We expect the employee to keep manager and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- US citizen.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have experience working with mechanical and or assembly of systems or components (type of system is unrestricted)
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS
- Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays
- Must have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to provide driving record upon request
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test
- Experience reading drawings, process and or procedures
- Wiring experience
Working Conditions:
- Shipyard Industrial, laboratory, production facilities
- Outdoor exposed to weather
- Working from heights
- Working around grinding and welding during ship installations
- Climbing and working from ladders,
- Working in space not climate controlled.
- Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment racks, cableways, and under false decks
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry 50 pounds unaided or 90-pound loads aided.
- Climb ladders,
- Work in hot, cold, and inclement weather.
