The Opportunity
Role Overview:
Support the development and integration of secure air-to-ground and air-to-air weapon systems.
Focus on systems architecture, electronics integration, and cybersecurity in classified environments.
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects to enhance munitions capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Architect and integrate secure cable assemblies and COTS sensor interfaces.
Design, develop, and integrate:
Weapons systems
HITL lab equipment
Flight motion simulators
Anechoic chambers
Scene generators and projectors
Data links and RF communications
Testing & Validation:
Lead HITL and SITL test activities.
Plan, execute, verify, and analyze performance using:
6-DOF scene generation
Sensor fusion techniques
Cybersecurity:
Conduct testing and validation, including:
Vulnerability assessments
Penetration testing
Anti-tamper evaluations
Mission Planning:
Contribute to mission planning from both weapons and aircraft perspectives.
Perform trade studies and capability analysis.
Collaboration & Mentoring:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partner companies, and government clients.
Mentor junior engineers and share expertise in systems engineering and cybersecurity.
Documentation & Reporting:
Design specifications, test reports, security assessments, and mission briefs for stakeholders.
Program Monitoring:
Monitor program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Identify risks and develop contingency plans.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies (AI, ML, cloud services, etc.), and innovative solutions.
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, weapons integration, or aerospace roles.
Experience with DoD simulation environments (SITL and HITL) and imaging technologies.
Proficiency in engineering tools (PENCURV, AFSIM, CAD, MATLAB, Simulink).
Knowledge of:
USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons interfaces
Cable design and COTS sensors
Cybersecurity principles
Self-motivated with attention to detail.
Clearance: Secret clearance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in EE, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
Preferred:
10+ years of experience in project leadership or program management in HITL or weapons systems development.
Knowledge of:
Real-time simulations and HITL lab setup.
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
Air Force programs, electro-optics, infrared, radar frequency modeling, countermeasure analysis, and AI/ML principles.
Clearance: TS/SCI clearance.
Education: Master’s degree or Doctorate in a STEM field.
Certification: Cybersecurity certifications (CompTIA Security+ or CISSP).
