Top Secret Linux Systems Administrator
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator with an active Top Secret clearance and Security+ certification to support mission-critical systems in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will be a command-line expert, able to design, deploy, maintain, and secure Linux-based servers and services while following strict operational and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, or other enterprise distributions).
• Perform all administration tasks primarily via the command line — shell scripting, package management, systemd, cron, service management, and log analysis.
• Implement and maintain security controls per STIGs, CIS benchmarks, and organizational policies. Ensure systems meet auditing and compliance requirements.
• Plan and apply OS and package updates with minimal downtime; coordinate vulnerability remediation and system hardening.
• Deploy and maintain monitoring solutions, analyze system performance, and tune for reliability and efficiency.
• Implement and test backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.
• Participate in security incident response, forensic data collection where required, and implement corrective actions.
• Support overnight Panama shift operations, including handoffs, monitoring, and emergency change windows.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Active Top Secret clearance
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience
• Experience in command-line skills (shell, text processing, system utilities)
• Proficient with system installation and configuration, package management, systemd, kernel tuning, and file systems
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to work overnight Panama shift and participate in on-call rotation
• Knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, firewall fundamentals)
• Experience with virtualization/container technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker) is highly desired
• Understanding of backup solution
Compensation:
$40/hr to $50/hr.

*Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
