Java Developer – Secret Clearance (Remote)
Location: Remote, but strong preference for the DMV area
Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Certification Required: CompTIA Security+
Client: Federal Government Contract supporting a client of ours
Overview
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Java Developer with an active Secret Clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification to support a federal client. This is a fully remote opportunity to work on mission-critical web applications in a secure, CAC-enabled environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable web solutions using Java and Spring frameworks.
Maintain and enhance existing client websites with modern technologies and secure coding practices.
Translate use case requirements and technical specifications into clean, efficient code.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with project managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to ensure alignment with client goals.
Support Quality Assurance testing to ensure performance, security, and cross-browser compatibility.
Manage multiple development projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Required Skills & Experience
CompTIA Security+ Certification (must be current).
Active DoD Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
5+ years of recent experience in Java-centric software development.
2+ years of hands-on experience with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).
Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for database interaction.
Familiarity with open-source technologies and tools (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker).
Experience working in secure, CAC-enabled environments is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting federal or DoD clients.
Knowledge of secure software development practices and compliance standards.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation
$40/hr to $52/hr. (Start on contract for 6 months, then convert full-time to our client at a higher salary)
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will commence on the first day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and access to a 401 (k) retirement account with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
