Parker Tide is a small business in DC. We serve as a value-added partner to the government. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work with one of our clients.
Title: Senior Data Scientist
Location: Fort Meade, MD (100% Onsite) – telework allowed on a case-by-case basis.
Period of Performance: One year and four option years.
Investigation: TS/SCI.
Experience: 5 Years of Related Experience.
Salary: Depends on Experience.
Critical Skills / Functions
• Advanced Excel / Power BI / Tableau for dashboards.
• SQL or Python (Pandas/NumPy) for data pulls.
• Strong statistical background (time series, regression, anomaly detection).
• Knowledge of security domain terms (PSI, CV, CAS) so the analytics context is right.
• Ability to brief leadership must translate data into a story PMs and the COR understand.
• Accuracy of Deliverables: if business process analysis or daily statistics are wrong, credibility with the government drops, must ensure numbers are right before they leave the building.
• Surge forecasting: without proactive modeling, FTEs can be misallocated. This can trigger missed deadlines (e.g., CV alerts pile up).
• Trend Spotting: if error rates or turnaround times slip must be rectified.
• Automation Reliability: scripts, tools, or dashboards must be validated.
Description
Manipulate raw workload data for 170+ employees into operational intelligence while underpinning Quality Assurance, surge planning, risk identification, and reporting obligations. Measure, model, and forecast data.
Workload Analytics
• Collect, clean, and analyze task volume data from NBIS, DISS, CE systems, and mailroom intake.
• Identify processing bottlenecks (e.g., CSR backlogs, CV alert delays).
• Provide daily/weekly dashboards to Task Leads and PM.
Reporting (Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) Support
• Automate and QA reports required by the Government including Business Process Analysis Reports, Weekly Case Processing Status Reports, and Daily Statistics / Workload Inventory Reports.
• Validate numbers before submission (critical QC point).
Forecasting & Surge Planning
• Build predictive models for CV alerts (e.g., impact of NSPT onboarding).
• Scenario modeling (e.g., if CSR drops from 700k to 300k, what’s the FTE shift?).
• Support PM in staffing projections to avoid over/under allocation.
Quality Control Intelligence
• Trend analysis on error rates across PSI, CV, and CAS.
• Highlight systemic issues (e.g., repeated data-entry errors, recurring delays in file requests).
• Enable QA Officer/Leads to focus QC on high-risk workflows.
Compliance & Risk
• Support OPSEC Conformance (A003) by analyzing data exposure.
• Track timeliness vs. standards (e.g., how many CV alerts validated within 3 days).
• Ensure performance aligns with service-level requirements.
