About the Company:
Our customer is a mission-driven technology company transforming how the U.S. defense and intelligence community leverages artificial intelligence. The company integrates cutting-edge AI, next-generation sensors, and advanced data solutions into operational environments—delivering capabilities that matter at the speed of mission.
The team is built from seasoned operators, technologists, and problem-solvers who thrive in small, fast-moving groups. They are deeply connected to the mission, move with urgency, and empower their people to take ownership. The problems they tackle are complex and high impact: accelerating decision-making, enhancing warfighter effectiveness, and shaping the future of defense technology.

About the Role:
The Mid-Level Software Engineer (Flyaway) will design, build, and deploy software that underpins the customer’s enterprise AI platforms. This includes scalable backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications used in real-world mission contexts. Flyaway billets involve up to 25% travel to Combatant Commands and IC sites, engaging directly with users to understand needs and shape solutions.
This role is not limited to coding alone—the engineer will collaborate closely with data engineers, AI/ML specialists, and mission engineers, contributing across multiple lines of effort (Base Support, TEVV, Flyaway) as priorities shift. The position requires adaptability, rapid problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering capabilities with real impact to the warfighter.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in classified environments.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data engineers, and mission engineers to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Participate in architecture decisions, technical reviews, and documentation.
