Summary

ValidaTek is seeking a junior level Network Administrator who will support the network infrastructure for a large IT modernization and transformational program for our DISA customer. The Junior Network Administrator will assist in ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability of the network.

Responsibilities

  • Support the stability and performance of computer networks and systems.
  • Setting up and configuring network devices such as routers, switches, and cabling with support from the Networking Team.
  • Troubleshooting connectivity issues and providing support to end-users for network-related problems.
  • Maintaining network security policies and technologies including firewalls and antivirus software.
  • Scheduling and monitoring network data back-ups and performing occasional data restoration tests.
  • Creating and maintaining network diagrams and documentation.


Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Up to 3 years of experience supporting increasingly complex networking infrastructure in a cleared government environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with network hardware, operation systems, and related software.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and solve network challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the IT team and end-users.
  • A proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and protocols using documentation and online resources.
  • A TS/SCI clearance.
  • An associate degree in computer science/related field or equivalent work experience.
