SHC Federal is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to support a high-impact federal program on a hybrid-basis in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria.

Requirements:
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information technology, engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, etc.
• At a minimum, three (3) years of hands-on experience as a software engineer or data engineer using the following technologies:
o AWS services such as Lambda, Translate, EC2, S3, Glue, and/or OpenSearch
o Python, JavaScript, and/or Kotlin
o Docker and/or Kubernetes (ECS or EKS)
• Experience working on an agile team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience working throughout the software development lifecycle, to include developing, testing, and maintaining.
• Ability to work hybrid/on-site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work on site and remotely across cross-functional teams.

Desired:
• Experience with observability and monitoring.
• CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities:
• Design, engineer, and maintain systems that process and integrate file- and stream-based data feeds from diverse sources to multiple destinations.
• Develop solutions in a rapidly changing environment to meet evolving mission requirements, data feeds, and threat landscapes.
• Create dashboards and implement automated alerting mechanisms to monitor data flow and system health.
• Proactively identify and flag data flow failures, restoring data access for mission users and systems with maximum urgency and minimal delay.
• Design and develop new software products or significantly enhance existing applications.
• Build and manage data pipelines leveraging AWS infrastructure and modern development tools.
• Apply expertise in service-oriented architecture to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
• Collaborate within an Agile team environment, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Embrace a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and calculated risk-taking to drive mission success.
