ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Senior Advanced Safety Systems Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group, you will be responsible for the identification, classification, and mitigation of safety hazards as part of the overall Systems Engineering (SE) process. This includes requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with little or no supervision. Additionally your focus will be on personnel safety of those operating the system. You will work with Program Management, technical leadership and the customer to make critical decisions on architecture, design, and technology choices as it pertains to safety significant solutioning. The Senior Safety Systems Engineer role will also include the following adjunct responsibilities:
Support the set-up, configuration, and documentation of hardware and software systems under test, including loading software onto multiple devices.
Support design, development, and implementation of cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting of components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
Support development of test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reports, test flow, and test case design and implementation
Document testing issues and failures and perform analysis of test results.
Support formal systems acceptance testing activities.

Experience in the adoption of system safety practices as defined by MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, JOTP-51, MIL-HDBK-2155, T9070-AL-DPC-020/077-2 standards and handbooks.

EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
