Position Type: Full-Time W2, Direct Hire

Pay: $62,000.00 to $141,000.00

Location : On-Site, Must be in one of the following locations: Washington D.C., McLean, VA, Chantilly, VA, St. Louis MO, Denver, CO, or Colorado Springs, CO.

Overview

Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing big data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their big data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.

As a big data engineer, you'll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms to organize and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data
  • Develop and deploy code using SQL, Java, Python, and Spark to extract, manipulate, and transform data across multiple sources and tables
  • Apply data modeling techniques to structure and optimize data for mission-specific requirements, ensuring usability and accuracy
  • Integrate diverse data types and sources into cohesive, meaningful datasets that support critical client initiatives
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, and data consumers in an agile environment to deliver data-driven solutions
  • Conduct analytical exploration and data examination to uncover patterns, insights, and opportunities for improved decision-making
  • Guide and support team members in applying best practices for big data engineering and platform development
  • Ensure data pipelines and platforms meet performance, reliability, and security standards to support high-stakes missions


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years experience with SQL, Java, or Python and Spark
  • 3+ years experience in working with highly structured data
  • Ability to manipulate data across different tables
  • Knowledge of different data types, and the different sources of data
  • Knowledge of modeling and how to make that data usable for meeting mission requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced data modeling, including entity resolution
