Platform Security Engineer
Location: McLean, Virginia
Job Description:
• Serve as a Platform Security Engineer
• Focus on automating security practices to ensure compliance of critical infrastructure
• Gain compliance and assess vulnerability within OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) for:
o Switches, routers, firewalls, operating systems, applications, and platform components
• Responsible for the detection and mitigation of security risks in order to comply with ATO requirements
• Perform high quality security assessments of network and platform components, and mitigate risks.
• Develop security automation that meets industry best practices
• Assist with internal/external customer interactions
• Produce appropriate security and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
• Maintain high security and compliance standards through security automation
• Operate and trouble-shoot:
o Network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configuration issues
• Maintain security best practices across the infrastructure
• Ensure systems are fully compliant with government/industry standards and policies
• Ensure the roll-out of new designs and products meet compliance and security requirements
• Proficient in either Python or Go programming language
• Experience working with RESTful APIs to automate security assessments and mitigation processes
• Experience with the following:
o Authority to Operate (ATO) process, NIST SP 800-53, and Cyber Security
o Risk Management Frameworks, Security Center, Nessus, and Splunk
• Knowledge in network topologies and architectures (VLAN, LAN, WAN)
• Experience with automation frameworks, specifically Ansible, to write scripts and automate security
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and customers
• Proficient time management and prioritization to meet deadlines in a fast-paced networking environment
• Travel up to 20% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and data centers
• Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements
