Insight Xcite is seeking a Data Scientist to support a government client in Chantilly, VA. You’ll apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and datascience techniques to deliver mission-critical insights that directly support national security. This is a hands-on role where you’ll transform complex datasets into actionable strategies, working closely with stakeholders to solve problems that matter.
Contingent Upon Award: This position is contingent upon contract award and/or funding approval. Candidates selected may be contacted for pre-screening and qualification prior to award.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to analyze large, complex datasets.
Build visualizations, dashboards, and reports that clearly communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences, with a focus on automated ETL pipelines and self-service analytics.
Partner with government stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve mission outcomes.
Apply advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, and exploratory data analysis to solve mission-critical challenges.
Provide documentation and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and methodologies in data science.
Requirements
Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) — non-negotiable.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data wrangling.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms.
Familiarity with complex ETL pipelines.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
Proven ability to leverage GenAI via prompt engineering.
Prior consulting or government client experience.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
