ASRC Federal is seeking a qualified Cybersecurity Analyst to support a DoDEA client headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Onsite work is required, but some telework is possible upon government authorization.

Position Summary:


The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) by performing a broad range of cybersecurity operational duties, including monitoring, detection, compliance, and documentation. The analyst will work as part of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team, providing real-time threat detection and response, and assisting with vulnerability management and RMF compliance efforts. This position supports enterprise cybersecurity objectives aligned with DoDEA and DoD policies and contributes to the safeguarding of systems, networks, and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze cybersecurity events using SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and other detection systems.
  • Respond to alerts and conduct triage on potential security incidents.
  • Assist with the coordination of incident response activities and escalation to senior analysts when appropriate.
  • Document incident findings, remediation steps, and resolution timelines.
  • Support vulnerability scanning and patch validation activities across DoDEA systems.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring compliance with cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to system security plans, POA&Ms, and audit logs.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to support mitigation of vulnerabilities and security gaps.
  • Contribute to reporting dashboards, weekly status summaries, and compliance metrics.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years' experience
  • Tier 3 background investigation clearance (NACLC).
  • Minimum IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Experience in security operations, cybersecurity monitoring, or vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, CrowdStrike, or equivalent security platforms.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and DoD security frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs).
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Clearance Requirement:


Active SECRET security clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet DoD ADP Level II requirements.
