- Travel is at the discretion of the government based on mission needs.
- Core business hours of 8:45 A.M through 5:15 P.M central time, Monday through Friday, with eight working (non-lunch) hours per day
- Prescribed period during which lunch may be taken: 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.
Responsibilities
As a senior practitioner in their craft, the individual who fills this role is responsible mentoring and guiding Coaches for continuous, integrated alignment in support of Army Software Factory (ASWF) enablement. Responsibilities include:
- Executing practice standards.
- Addressing acute needs within the Software Development Unit (SDU).
- Radiating insights for practice health, check-ins, and assessments across Software Development Unit (SDU)s and within the Learning Office to whom they are accountable to.
- Leverage tools and processes to enable the Software Development Unit (SDU)s to adapt to emerging needs.
- Supporting novice Soldiers when dedicated pairs are unavailable.
- Providing rapid practice feedback to practitioners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar relevant field.
- 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer.
- Ability to coach and train intermediate platform engineers in the following:
- Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and pipeline tools.
- Knowledge of portable, extensible, open source platform for managing containerized workloads and services in AWS.
- Knowledge of the steps for release to higher levels of integration testing, certification activities, and/or operations using testbeds, modeling and simulation to synchronize software releases with the development of an operations environment(s) to ensure compatibility.
- Knowledge of every stage in the software project lifecycle, from initial design and build to rollout and maintenance.
- Must hold a current and valid IAT II or higher certification (Security+ acceptable).
- Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance prior to start date and achieve/maintain Secret clearance upon final adjudication.
