Work location : Onsite ( Monday - Friday ) / Walter Reed National Military Medical Center
Clearance: Public Trust; successfully complete a government issues background investigation

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to configure, test, implement and maintain a networked system server environment or application along with ability to support administers and users utilizing the environment or application.
- Demonstrates ability to configure, test, implement and maintain an enterprise level endpoint management solution with ability to support administrators and users utilizing the environment or application.
- Ability to evaluate and resolve system, servers, virtualization, storage, and processing problems.
- Ability to configure and implement system, servers, virtualization, and storage architecture designs.
- Ability to evaluate performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools.
- Assist with the designing, planning and installation of new systems, servers, virtualization, storage, and hardware.
- Work with Information Assurance engineers to ensure all systems and servers meet DoD RMF requirements.
- Works collaboratively with Cybersecurity team to ensure the following: Maintenance of baseline system security according to organizational policies, cyber threats and vulnerabilities are mitigated, and information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, and encryption) are adhered to.
- Supports disaster recovery and COOP plans, systems, and operations
- Prepares milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on systems, servers, and storage progress to stakeholders, colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.
- Communicates effectively and timely to leadership on status reports, issues impacting data center services, and any performance improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Experience with deploying & hardening Windows Server 2016, Server 2019
- Experience in areas such as AD, SCOM, MECM, IIS, SQL, DSUW, Remedy ITSM, M3, Exchange, Linux, Unix, and patch management.
- Ability to support after hours downtime and issues.
- Experience with System implementation, Upgrade support, SMEe support, Server/application administration, Inventory, Documentation creation/review, Day-to-day operations
- Ability to be on-call support rotation
- Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all stakeholders/staff members/customers.
- Demonstrates good time management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- Ability to successfully complete a government issues background investigation
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors' Degree and/or Equivalency
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience demonstrating the required proficiency with server operations to include blade architectures, virtualization technologies, Active Directory management, Group Policy, application support, and storage solutions.
- Certification: Microsoft MSCE-level certification preferred, or equivalent experience and IAT II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
