IT Specialist

ASRC Federal is seeking qualified IT Specialists to support the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) in Peachtree City, GA. This role involves onsite work supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure and IT systems, with some flexibility for telework based on government approval.
Position Summary:

The IT Specialist will provide systems administration and infrastructure support for hybrid on-premise and cloud environments within DoDEA. This includes managing Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory services, and supporting infrastructure modernization efforts such as cloud migrations. The specialist will ensure IT services are secure, reliable, and meet the agency's performance and cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers in hybrid cloud environments (on-prem and Azure).
• Support Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and server patching and compliance.
• Assist in cloud migration projects and infrastructure configuration activities.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and performance standards.
• Work collaboratively with IT teams to implement infrastructure enhancements.
• Participate in incident response and change management processes.
• Contribute to system hardening and application of STIGs as required.
• Support backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active SECRET security clearance.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in system administration (Windows/Linux).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD or other federal agencies.
• Working knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and other DoD security frameworks.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring tools and patch management systems.

Clearance Requirement:

Active SECRET security clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet DoD ADP Level II requirements.
