Field Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Field Engineer to support deployment, installation, and sustainment of command-and-control systems at locations within the U.S. and overseas. This role reports to the Fielding Lead and requires planning, organizing, and executing equipment fielding and sustainment activities.
Education & Experience
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited college, or equivalent education plus at least 3 years of professional experience.
• Preferred experience areas: sustaining engineering, fielding (equipment installation), logistics, supply support, and trouble-ticket management.
Key Responsibilities
• Able to install equipment racks on raised floors, perform rack interconnect wiring, and cable subcomponents within racks.
• Install monitors, KVMs, and workstation solutions at various user locations.
• Conduct acceptance testing and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Coordinate activities with other teams, provide daily status reports, and communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Identify and implement process improvements for sustainment and maintenance tracking.
• Adaptability: Experience working in diverse site locations and environments.
• Participate in planning and executing fielding, sustainment, and logistics activities for system deployments at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Review projects for sustaining-engineering impacts and recommend solutions.
• Track, prioritize, and manage service requests and maintenance actions.
• Develop fielding and installation plans, step-by-step instructions, and detailed schedules.
• Monitor equipment production and staging, and participate in readiness reviews.
• Coordinate delivery of systems and spares to sites and manage on-site installation and checkout.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure installations are completed on schedule and meet requirements.
• Support sustainment planning and operational processes as needed.
• Provide daily status updates and coordinate actions across the team.
Compensation:
$55/hr to $75/hr.
