Site Engineer — Deployment Team
Position Overview
The Site Engineer serves as a deputy/admin member of the Deployment Team. This role combines technical engineering support, drawing and documentation control, and administrative coordination across multiple concurrent projects. The position requires frequent collaboration with internal teams.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience: At least 9 years of relevant professional experience supporting systems or hardware engineering activities.
Requirements
• Drawing & Documentation Tools: Proficient with Microsoft Visio or equivalent professional drawing software; strong skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Engineering Standards: Solid understanding of drafting practices and hardware engineering standards.
• Networking Basics: Familiarity with VLANs, switch stacking, routers, and basic network concepts.
• Methodologies: Working knowledge of Agile processes (user stories, tasks, backlog management).
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and update site drawings and plans for system installations and deployments.
• Control and manage all program drawings and related documentation; maintain a single authoritative drawing repository and track revisions.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable drafting and hardware engineering standards.
• Support design, development, and deployment activities by providing drafting and design engineering input.
• Participate in and support technical meetings, configuration control boards, and other technical forums.
• Act as a technical interface to MDNT working-level counterparts and the MDA customer to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment.
• Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for deployments and system installations.
• Perform configuration control activities to ensure correct versions of drawings and BOMs are used and updated.
• Produce Basis of Estimates (BOE) and Engineering Estimates (EE):
○ Provide labor-hour estimates with clear justification.
○ Produce install materials estimates and cost-supporting rationale.
• Work with team leadership to align estimates with schedules and resource availability.
• Document work items using Agile methods (create and update user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria).
• Maintain and update the Agile backlog; coordinate with team leadership to monitor progress and drive task completion.
• Serve as a deputy/admin for the Deployment Team by handling administrative tasks, scheduling, tracking action items, and managing project documentation.
• Support “pop-up” tasks and ad-hoc requests that arise during program execution.
• Coordinate with fielding and mission success teams to ensure documentation supports operational needs.
• Communicate technical information clearly and proactively to peers, leadership, and customers.
• Work effectively both in-person and remotely with cross-functional team members.
Compensation:
$67/hr to $90/hr.
