Salary Range: $90,000 to $164,000

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview:Join a mission-critical program supporting national security as a Database Administrator. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated database professional to support a large-scale, fast-paced operational program. This role encompasses database administration, maintenance, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and data security for complex enterprise systems.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases.
  • Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and data monitoring.
  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure database security and integrity.
  • Evaluate and recommend database management system products.
  • Perform database and software lifecycle activities to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and compliance.
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
  • Daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system database and replication issues.
  • Monitor database performance and memory allocations using standard tools.
  • Perform system updates and patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database problems, including recovery actions.
  • Modify and create database scripts to enhance support and resolve recurring issues.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
  • Transition/ingest legacy data and translate requirements into usable database schemas.
  • Recommend design and implementation practices to optimize GOTS/COTS databases and applications.
  • Assist in developing database structures, parser software, and loading software.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience as a database administrator.
  • At least 3 years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining database security.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems/issues.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.
  • Experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with real-time, highly available data replication technologies (Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle Golden Gate, Sybase Replication Server).
  • Experience as a member of an Agile team, ideally with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Extensive experience with database design and development.
  • In-depth understanding of databases, primarily Oracle and/or other relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and SQL in general.
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or Cassandra.
