The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.

MOS is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility, however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible MOS.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: The applicant must possess the experience which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The applicant mustpossess 36 months of specialized experience, which includes: 1) Experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment; 2) Analyzes work plans developed by subordinate supervisors to ensure priorities and deadlines are met; 3) Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; and 4) Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.
- Plans on a quarterly or longer basis, the overall use of subordinate personnel and resources under their control.
- Determines resource requirements, materials, the number of subordinates and the types of skill necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules.
- Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed.
- Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources to achieve the most effective work operations.
- Assures that subordinate supervisors effectively carry out policies to achieve management objectives.
- Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors, makes formal appraisals of their performance, and determines their training needs.
- Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements.
- Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs.
- Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Irregular and/or compensatory hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
