Network Engineer

Title: Network Engineer

Location: San Antonio, TX

Clearance: TS/SCI CI Poly

Responsibilities:

• Assess the existing network infrastructure and recommend improvements to align with federal government standards and best practices
• Design, develop, and implement advanced networking solutions
• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including diagrams, operation procedures, and security guidelines
• Collaborate with the security operations team to ensure compliance with federal government security requirements
• Conduct regular network infrastructure audits to identify and address potential security risks and vulnerabilities
• Optimize network performance and availability by implementing network monitoring, fault management, and load balancing solutions
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the department's network infrastructure
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to personnel as needed
• Coordinate with other federal agencies, vendors, and partners to ensure seamless integration of cloud services and technologies

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of experience in network engineering or administration, with a focus on federal government network environments
• Knowledge in a variety of network technologies and protocols, including LAN, WAN, wireless, data center networking, and network security
• Strong understanding of federal government security requirements, including FISMA and NIST guidelines
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Relevant certifications, such as CCIE, CCNP, or JNCIE
• Current active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required
