ASRC Federal Holding Company is currently seeking a Vice President & Controller to support our Enterprise Operations.

Role Objective:

We are looking for a strong leader with a track record of leading large accounting organizations, effectively and efficiently implementing automation and optimization of systems, and delivering superior results. Must be a strong leader, enjoy the accounting function and demonstrate the ability manage a diverse organizational structure. The successful candidate must collaborate with all aspects of the business including Business Operations, Financial Shared Services, FAR Compliance and Operations and act as an authoritative SME in technical Accounting concepts (e.g. ASC 606) . They will be the primary lead in readiness and support of the interim and annual corporate audits. They will lead the GL function, the accounting close process and be responsible for all aspects associated the enforcement of strong internal controls, and policies and procedures across ASRC Federal. Currently, the Controller has a team of ~11 individuals that support an enterprise of ~8,500 employees and annual sales more than $2.5B. This position will provide strategic leadership to the above functions along with supporting M&A activity, interacting with our Corporate office and providing thought leadership to our Senior Leadership team. Emphasis on Annual Audit, GL account reconciliations, system design & configuration, system and process automation and optimization. Strong background working directly with DCAA & DCMA is preferable. The Controller will be a leader who works in a collaborative fashion and ensures consistent accuracy and transparency of results, processes and controls.

Requirements:
  • High energy, dynamic professional with strong leadership presence.
  • Strong technical accounting skills & background.
  • Experience creating a strong internal controls environment (e.g., Segregation of Duties (SOD), etc.) including developing enterprise-wide control process which utilizes system, manual and management controls.
  • Strong systems and automation experience (ERP implementations, ERP design, setup and structure).
  • Must be a leader who can drive a culture of continuous improvement within the Accounting function as well as working collaboratively with other functional areas (e.g. FSS, Business Operations, HR, Procurement, and operations). Understanding of process improvement systems - Six Sigma, LEAN, etc.
  • Experience leading a team, executing multiple projects and juggling competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with Accounting preferred. MBA preferred.
  • 15 plus years of experience performing significant accounting and financial analysis in a corporate structure.
  • CPA, technical accounting experience.
  • Extensive USGAAP Financial Statement knowledge and experience leading successful unqualified financial audits.
  • Considerable FAR, CAS and Government Compliance experience.
  • Cross functional experience/understanding of government procurement, government contracting and government contract management
  • Track record of leading, mentoring and developing an experienced team and building a succession plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and recognize the importance of relationship building and professionalism in interacting with both senior management and staff employees.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Strong experience with Deltek Costpoint financial system (including system design & setup), minimum version 7.0 experience preferred. TM1 and Cognos a plus.
  • Experience with systems migration and use in the cloud desired.


Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the SVP of Accounting at ASRC Federal , this position is responsible for:
  • Leading a team of diverse employees to deliver superior results.
  • Optimizing the company's accounting functions.
  • Serving as the Accounting authority for the organization.
  • Maintaining a solid working relationship with the ASRC Corporate controller in Alaska.
  • Managing financial data and assurance of data integrity and accuracy.
  • Month-end closing and P&L process.
  • Monthly consolidated financial reporting to Corporate.
  • Year-end close process and financial reporting.
  • Analyzing accounting system design and configuration and optimizing systems, structure, automation and processes.
  • Annual financial audit and relationship with local audit partner.
  • Being the primary interface for accounting audits, both internal & external.
  • Providing support to M&A due diligence & integration.
  • Providing ownership of all accounting policies & procedures.
  • Performing financial process control activities to ensure internal compliance.
  • Ownership of our revenue recognition policy & partnership with the business to ensure compliance and proper review of our EAC's.
  • Instilling controls and building a culture to ensure that judgments, risks and errors are identified and properly addressed and accounted for.
  • Partnering with other areas of Finance & Operations to provide leadership over all accounting matters that aide in the organization performing at the highest level.
  • Creating an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Talent management including succession planning.
  • Ad hoc duties and special projects as necessary.
