General Description:
The Senior-level Tools Developer/Maintainer will establish and guide others in applying relevant and meaningful criteria, such as comparing features and benefits, to evaluate and provide analysis to potential tools, technology, and software to consider for automation opportunities. The goal is to develop tools for executing in a more agile and efficient manner. This includes forecasting future technology, architecture, and developing tools in support of systems engineering processes. These tool(s) will be hosted leveraging dedicated cloud and container environments.

General Description:
The Senior-level Tools Developer/Maintainer will establish and guide others in applying relevant and meaningful criteria, such as comparing features and benefits, to evaluate and provide analysis to potential tools, technology, and software to consider for automation opportunities. This includes forecasting future technology, architecture, and developing tools in support of systems engineering processes. These tool(s) will be hosted leveraging dedicated cloud and container environments.
Key Duties:
- Identify and evaluate applications that can support the exploitation of data and databases.
- Assess what is required to integrate a particular tool into Agency IT environments.
- Direct preparation of required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
- Plan and execute the migration of the various engineering tools into the cloud per Agency policy and government guidance.
- Follow established processes and complete the appropriate documentation to ensure systems and applications migrated into the cloud achieve ATO.
- Oversee the work of other Junior level Tools Developer/Maintainer.
- Oversee activities to maintain the Enterprise Engineering Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) in AWS, OpenShift or similar cloud-based environment.
- Identify and manage resources in both AWS and OpenShift along with leading transition to containerized services.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions for the purpose of automating deployment of critical systems and services leveraging Git, Terraform, or other solutions
- Expertly provide cloud hosting cost estimates for planning purposes and monitor burn rates using the cloud estimation tools approved by the Government.
- Guide the expertise in the implementation, integration, and maintenance of tools to include ServiceNow, IBM DOORS Next Gen (DNG), MS Project, and Cameo to ensure data sharing and process automation.
- Leverage approved government Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASoTs), including but not limited to Atlassian suite of tools.
- Maintain visualization in approved government visualization applications and coordinate visualization support with applicable teams.
- Leverage tools/applications from Government and NFE capabilities.
- Coordination with teams as needed and guided w/ NFE leadership.

- Master's degree plus 4 years of experience,
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience,
- Associates degree plus 8 years of experience, or
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field
- Security+ certification
