TUVLI is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Telecom Team Lead to supervise and coordinates activities of multiple teams to ensure project delivery efficiently to the highest standards. The team lead will direct a crew of two or more technicians in performing various tasks such as cable pulling, terminating and testing copper or fiber cable, bonding/grounding, installing cable tray and various other types of cable support hardware. The ideal candidate will monitor project schedules, timelines and will possess expert knowledge in the Information and Communication Technology field.

Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary resource for identifying and working with various types of copper and fiber optic cables on job sites.
- Applies advanced understanding of project drawings and blueprints to plan work tasks and assist team members in proper implementation.
- Follows established labeling schemes and ensures that labeling is applied consistently throughout the project.
- Leads the setup and buildout of telecom spaces such as closets, entrance facilities, equipment rooms, and data centers according to project requirements.
- Installs grounding infrastructure and cable support systems with attention to code compliance and long-term reliability.
- Prepares and configures work areas for cable drops including wall, floor, modular furniture, and power pole locations.
- Executes installation of firestop systems, sleeves, ladder racks, cable trays, and other support structures following industry standards.
- Performs horizontal and backbone cable pulls (both copper and fiber) across various building environments using proper techniques to prevent damage.
- Terminates copper and fiber cables using patch panels, 110-blocks, enclosures, and other appropriate hardware.
- Completes fiber and copper splicing with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of physical network topologies and contributes to the layout and planning of cable pathways.
- Assists in the installation of wireless systems, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), and Passive Optical LAN infrastructure.
- Ensures all work adheres to local, state, and federal fire and building codes, as well as customer and project specifications.
- Coordinates daily with the Project Manager to align tasks with the overall schedule, report progress, and raise potential issues proactively.
- Provides informal guidance to technicians, helping to maintain workflow, ensure quality, and promote safe work practices on-site.
Qualifications
- Eight+ years of experience.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Ability to lead a team or 2 or more Telecom Technicians.
- Must have extensive knowledge in the use of hand tools, including various punch tools, test. equipment, and various power tools such as hammer drills and saws.
- Must have expert knowledge of the various types of copper and/or fiber cable and termination hardware as well as termination and testing procedures used on a day-to-day basis.
- Must have extensive knowledge of BICSI and TIA standards.
- Must be able to obtain the BICSI TECH certification within 1 year.
- Must be able to work independently and in team environments.
- Must be able to read construction drawings and other project documents.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have good Excel and Word knowledge.
Desired Qualifications:
- BICSI Tech Certified.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to climb ladders and work in high spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in construction environment.
- Ability to differentiate color, for termination color coding.
- Must be able to stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Must have reliable independent transportation to get to/from job locations.
