Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Principal Cyber Engineer to join a Federal Program working in Sterling, VA . The Principal Cyber Engineer will analyze and design cybersecurity solutions, collaborate across teams, resolve security issues, and provide technical guidance.
Responsibilities of the Principal Cyber Engineer include:
· Engage directly with users on-site to diagnose and remediate advanced cyber issues. Apply critical thinking and technical expertise to deliver timely and effective solutions in fast-paced operational settings.
· Lead the creation of impactful native applications, with a strong emphasis on mobile platforms. Your work will directly support mission-critical operations and enhance user experience across diverse environments.
· Integrate findings from reverse engineering efforts into the development lifecycle. Use these insights to strengthen application security, improve functionality, and anticipate potential vulnerabilities.
· Continuously expand your knowledge of mobile operating systems, frameworks, and security protocols. Stay ahead of emerging trends to ensure that development efforts align with evolving customer needs and technological advancements.
· Partner with cross-functional groups—including software engineers, security analysts, and product managers—to drive the secure development lifecycle. Influence the design and implementation of cutting-edge cyber capabilities through shared expertise and strategic input.
· Serve as a technical authority within the team. Offer guidance, support, and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Qualifications for the Principal Cyber Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field.
· Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience developing in C/C++ on Unix/Linux platforms, utilizing Make or CMake build systems.
· Proven experience developing for Android or other mobile platforms.
· Familiarity with reverse engineering tools, including static decompilers (e.g., Hex-Rays) and disassemblers (e.g., Ghidra).
· Experience contributing to or working with large open-source projects, such as the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
· Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstrated leadership experience, either in a team or task lead capacity.
· Strong understanding of Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) techniques and methodologies, particularly on Android and Linux systems.
· Proficiency with ARM64/ARM32 architectures or similar embedded platforms.
· Experience with reverse engineering ARM binaries and developing proof-of-concept exploit software.
· Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Atlassian tools such as Bitbucket, Bamboo, and JIRA.
· Must have an Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
Compensation for the Principal Cyber Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
· Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
