Salary Range: $113,000 to $135,000

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: Seeking an experienced Elastic Engineer to join a technically advanced, full-spectrum cyber and data operations initiative supporting U.S. Government customers. This role is part of a team of Data Analytic Engineers focused on enhancing and sustaining an Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) environment with a strong emphasis on data onboarding, content development, and visualization.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Build data pipelines to ingest external datasets into Elastic products.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain the ELK platform.
  • Install and configure ELK components including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats.
  • Use Elasticsearch APIs, indices, and Kibana dashboards for data analysis and visualization.
  • Develop or integrate plug-ins for authentication and authorization.
  • Integrate ELK with enterprise tools and APIs.
  • Implement complex development use cases using Python, Groovy, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Monitor Elastic Search clusters using appropriate tools.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  • Collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. [Ten (10) years of experience (for a total of eighteen (18) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.]
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.

Required Skills
  • 2+ years of experience as an Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) admin or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience with Elasticsearch Domain Specific Language (DSL)
  • 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes architecture
  • Strong knowledge of the ELK stack
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash

Desired Skills
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Experience supporting federal customers

Desired Certifications
  • DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I (e.g., CISSP)
  • Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master)

    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Analyst
    • Elastic Certified Observable Engineer
  • Kubernetes certifications:
    • Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)

    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
