The Opportunity:
We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (Developer) with expertise in automation and scripting, particularly with AutoIt, to join our NTCSS Norfolk Va team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying virtual machines within a network and developing customized software solutions for virtual environments and automating deployment processes.

Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, validate, and deliver deployable packages containing the latest Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patches for distribution to users
2. Apply knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle in the Applications Package development process
3. Establish and maintain virtual environments (Type-1 hypervisors, Type-2 Hypervisors) and current technologies (VMware ESXi/vSphere, VMware Workstation, Microsoft Hyper-V)
4. Develop and maintain customized software packages using tools such as AutoIt and other scripting languages to facilitate automated delivery of new releases and updates in virtual machines.
5. Automate deployment of 3rd party software, operating systems, platforms, and application security fixes and upgrades.
6. Create programs that validate and process multiple inputs, including command line arguments, environmental variables, and input streams.
7. Write comprehensive technical documentation and procedures for all developed solutions.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiency and security.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a T5 investigation clearance
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in solving various levels of technical problems
- Experience in DoD Business IT supply, logistics, maintenance, and/or personnel administration systems for aviation, afloat, or shore activities
- Knowledge of IEEE 15288 and IEEE 12207-2017 standards
- Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python
- Strong understanding of information assurance and cybersecurity principles
- Advanced proficiency in scripting tools such as AutoIt, with the ability to create standalone executables and complex automation scripts.
- Strong experience in additional programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Perl, and Python.
- Demonstrated experience in modern operating system administration (Windows 11, Windows Server 2016 or higher, Linux).
- In-depth knowledge of DISA STIG security process and Windows group policy implementation.
- Solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Expertise in building and administering virtual environments (VMware ESXi/vSphere, VMware Workstation, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Experience with Cisco networking hardware or equivalent, including routing and switching concepts.
- Proven ability to create programs that validate and process multiple inputs, including command line arguments, environmental variables, and input streams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desired:
- Experience applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to Windows Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with using scripting tools such as AutoIt.
- Knowledge of COM support and ability to call external DLL and Windows API functions.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$98,500-$206,800
