Overview
Seeking a Cloud Engineer to manage and optimize Azure environments, driving reliability, security, and innovation. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with opportunities to develop solutions and guide team success. Work is on-site primarily in Reston, VA, with potential support at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Security Clearance: TS/SCI in DISS (required)
Minimum Requirements:
⦁ 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining Microsoft Azure environments and resources
⦁ Hands-on experience with Azure services (VMs, storage, networking, databases)
⦁ Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM templates, Terraform)
⦁ Experience with Linux OS and Bash scripting
⦁ Knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs)
⦁ Experience managing hybrid cloud environments
⦁ Ability to work in an Agile, team-based environment (Jira, Confluence)
⦁ DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP certification (required prior to start)
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Manage, administer, and enhance Azure-based cloud environments
⦁ Ensure continuous improvement, security, and rapid problem resolution
⦁ Contribute to solutions for moderately complex technical challenges
⦁ Support hybrid cloud deployments and integration
⦁ Work independently while providing guidance to junior team members
Skills and Proficiencies:
⦁ Azure cloud engineering and administration
⦁ Infrastructure automation (Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure CLI)
⦁ Networking and security within Azure
⦁ Scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell)
⦁ Agile methodologies and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
Additional Information:
⦁ Experience with Python, Go, or Java for software development
⦁ Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
⦁ Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD)
⦁ Multi-tenant cloud environment management across DoD networks
⦁ Software or systems architecture background
⦁ Azure Engineering or Architecting Certification preferred
⦁ Experience interfacing with Cloud Security Service Providers (CSSP)
⦁ STEM degree preferred
