We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic Network Security Implementation and Sustainment (NSIS) Services team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to analyze and enhance complex systems, architectures, and network designs. Responsibilities:
  • Procurement and Testing: Source and perform acceptance testing on cutting-edge network equipment.
  • Maintenance Support: Provide both preventative and remedial hardware maintenance to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Deployment: Install and implement network hardware across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Specification Preparation: Analyze system requirements to prepare detailed hardware specifications.
  • Site Surveys: Conduct comprehensive site surveys to assess current network configurations and unique site requirements.
  • Technical Design: Prepare engineering plans and Technical Design Packages for network installations.
  • Installation Management: Organize and direct hardware installations, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Configuration: Configure and document the setup of computers, networking devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed installation and test reports, and provide recommendations on existing and emerging hardware technologies.
  • Problem Solving: Ensure issues are properly identified and solutions meet user requirements.
  • System Design Input: Contribute to the hardware components of system design, including end-user devices, servers, and networking equipment.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Conduct thorough site surveys and document network configurations.
  • Manage hardware installations across multiple sites.
  • Analyze and recommend hardware specifications tailored to project needs.
  • Assist in building simulations and provide hardware throughput analyses.
  • Design and verify test harnesses and simulated interfaces.
  • Prepare Mean-Time-Between-Failure and Mean-Time-To-Repair analyses.
  • Identify network choke points, failure modes, and recommend improvements.
  • Review and support network communications systems (LAN/WAN).
  • Evaluate current systems and annotate vulnerabilities.
  • Research and analyze COTS/GOTS components and GFE for feasibility.
  • Provide technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture.
  • Develop technical standards and interface applications.
  • Ensure network designs meet governmental security specifications.
  • Assist in developing system security documentation.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on wired and wireless network systems.
  • Plan vendor comparisons, cost studies, and security assessments.
  • Evaluate existing network systems and recommend resource allocations.


Education and Experience:
  • Clearance: An active NSA TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience: 17 years as a Network Security Engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field. Alternatively, 5 additional years of Network Security engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Certifications: Must hold DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level III and possess at least 3 of the following: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Sonicwall Network Security Administrator (SNSA), Sonicwall Network Security Professional (SNSP), Symantec ProxySG 6.7 Technical Specialist, or Cisco CCNA or higher.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$120,800 - $265,800
