Senior Platform Operations & Modernization Engineer
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality modernization and operational support for classified or sensitive environments.
• Work with local and global leads to ensure continuous, reliable operations and coverage.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevSecOps and engineering best practices.
• Participate in team scheduling, incident response, and post-incident improvement actions.
• Guide the implementation and operation of Kubernetes-based PaaS solutions and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with design, product, and infrastructure teams to drive solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and champion continuous process and reliability improvements.
• Required Certifications
○ DoD 8570 Level II (e.g., Security+ CE) or equivalent.
• Required Clearance
○ Active U.S. Secret clearance (or equivalent).
• Required Skills
○ 5+ years with multiple cloud and on‑prem infrastructures (public cloud providers, virtualization, Linux/Windows).
○ 5+ years deploying, configuring, and administering PaaS at scale (examples: Cloud Foundry, Tanzu K8s Grid, managed K8s).
○ 5+ years developing and maintaining containerized production services on orchestration platforms.
○ 5+ years building, securing, and integrating systems for classified or sensitive networks.
○ 5+ years in Operations, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering supporting production systems.
○ 5+ years building and supporting production platform services using cloud or local virtualization.
○ Proven experience with incident response, security best practices, and large-scale DevOps execution across multiple data centers or AZs.
Demonstrated knowledge of microservices, event-sourced, multi-tenant architectures, cloud-native patterns, resiliency techniques, and delivery optimizations.
Compensation:
$160,000 to $175,000 per year annual salary.
