As a Photographer, you'll work alongside a talented team of photographers, multimedia specialists, and creative professionals to capture compelling imagery that supports national security efforts. From official portraits and high-level ceremonies to rocket launch coverage, you'll play a key role in visually documenting critical moments.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Preparation:
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to plan photographic coverage for events, studio sessions, and remote operations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and transport professional photography gear, including mirrorless camera systems, lenses, lighting equipment, and remote triggers.
  • Plan and execute remote camera setups for capturing high-speed events, including rocket launches, using MIOPS smart triggers and other advanced tools.
  • Scout and assess locations to ensure optimal lighting and environmental conditions for planned shoots.
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Photography Execution:
  • Provide photographic coverage of internal and external events, including military promotions, retirements, special events, and official portraits.
  • Conduct in-studio and on-location photo sessions using professional lighting setups and mirrorless camera systems in manual mode.
  • Set up and deploy remote camera systems to capture stills of rocket launches or other technical events with precision and safety.
  • Creative mastery of time-lapse photography and astral photography.
  • Capture high-quality video using mirrorless cameras when needed, ensuring proper composition, focus, and exposure.

Post-Production:
  • Process and retouch photos using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to ensure professional-quality deliverables.
  • Edit basic video footage as needed, including trimming, stabilization, and color correction using Davinci Resolve.
  • Deliver final imagery in multiple formats for print, digital distribution, and archival purposes.
  • Catalog and archive imagery with accurate metadata for future use and retrieval.

Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with other creatives and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and brand standards.
  • Maintain open communication with clients to understand needs, provide guidance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and shared success.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Follow all required security, confidentiality, and clearance protocols.
  • Manage multiple assignments, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay up to date on trends and technology in photography and multimedia production.
  • Provide on-site support during standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend assignments.
  • Complete all required training and maintain accurate time-tracking and reporting


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance (mandatory)
  • 10+ years of professional experience in digital photography
  • Proficient in manual operation of mirrorless cameras for stills and video
  • Experience with studio lighting setups and professional portrait photography
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Experience capturing video content using mirrorless camera systems
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • U.S. Citizenship is required


Desired:
  • Experience using MIOPS or other smart triggers for remote photography (e.g., rocket launches or high-speed capture)
  • Familiarity with Davinci Resolve
  • Working knowledge of metadata standards and digital asset management

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$70,800 - $148,600
