Waypoint's client is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Long Range Targets Program Office. In this role, you will provide technical and engineering support across programs developing the next generation of reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and countermeasures, ensuring realistic test environments for the Nation's missile defense systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering analysis for MDA flight requirements products to ensure accuracy, decomposition, and integration are complete.
• Participate in system requirements reviews; create and update requirement specifications and technical documentation.
• Support requirements development and functional allocation across hardware, software, operator, and system components.
• Review and analyze engineering designs, requirements, and program status.
• Coordinate multi-domain reviews of design artifacts submitted in support of critical program reviews.

Required:

• Active Secret clearance (with ability to maintain).
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to apply engineering rigor to solve technical and scientific problems.
• Experience writing, presenting, and coordinating engineering plans, policies, and procedures.
• Strong understanding of system interface requirements and requirements management.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and produce well-organized, audience-relevant documentation and presentations.
• Experience reviewing systems engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs.
• Ability to work independently, as a team member, or lead small teams/tasks.
• Experience working in a configuration-controlled environment.

Desired:

• Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and familiarity with the Missile Defense System (MDS).
• Familiarity with MDA flight test targets and threats.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw).
