Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview

Tecolote Research Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to work in the Corporate Accounting Group located in Goleta, California

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process vendor invoices, check requests and make entries in Deltek Costpoint
• Ensure all invoices are coded to the correct GL account, department, and project number
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and answer vendor inquiries
• Subcontractor invoice processing
• Update Purchase Order information in the Asset Management System
• Analyze and reconcile General Ledger financial information
• Special projects as required
• Salary Range: $52,000 - $62,000/year, DOE

Skills Required

• 3+ years Accounts Payable experience, college-level coursework in Accounting a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Deltek Costpoint and Unanet experience a plus
• Prior experience with Payroll and/or Travel Accounting a plus
• Knowledge of GAAP principles, FAR/DFAR regulations and Cost Accounting Standards a plus
• Committed to accuracy with a strong focus on attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, monitor workflow, and maintain cooperative working relationships
