Responsibilities
- Preforms installation, repairs, painting and general upkeep in maintaining shipboard systems to ensure continuance of communication systems using specialty machines and equipment.
- Assists in the repair and maintaining of electrical, electronic and RF communications equipment as needed.
- Comprehend and execute tasking of moderate complexity with little supervision.
- Comprehension and hands on application of NAVSEA installation standards and Military Specifications for shipboard C4ISR systems installations.
- Interpret technical drawings or publications in order to execute a specific task.
- Quickly adapt and understand new system installations through independent study, research, and comprehension.
- Knowledge of connector fabrication, soldering, cableway or telecommunications training such as BICSI, 3M, IPC, or NAVSEA instructions.
- Travel to job sites as required by the PM and IAW the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Willing to work 1st or 2nd shift.
Qualifications
- Must be US Citizen eligible for or possess an active DoD Public Trust clearance (NNSY background check is required that flags felonies, weapon charges, assault, etc)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of recent experience in electrical and/or cable installation environments, preferably within a DoD/military setting.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including experience with panel building and component installations.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and identifying defects or safety hazards.
- Basic understanding of fiber handling and structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
- Familiarity with OSHA and shipyard safety protocols (OSHA 10 Maritime a plus).
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. regularly and work in confined shipboard environments, including climbing ladders and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Prior military experience in a technical MOS or rates (15Y10 - AH-64 Armament/Electrical/Avionics Systems Repairer, ET, FC, etc) strongly preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to adapt to changing task priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid OSHA 10 Maritime certification.
- Fiber Handling and Building certification.
- Prior experience supporting government and contractors.
