Summary
We are looking for a Data Engineer to:
Update and maintain the information residing on the Private Sector Portal (PSP) tool, using automation when appropriate.
Assist in the relationship management team in identifying and documenting technical requirements around the PSP system
Develop guidance around appropriate use of the PSP system and ensure consistent data standards across the enterprise.
Provide expertise and customer service to HQ/field users
Maintain the PSP system, to include auditing content for missing or inappropriate metadata, reporting technical user problems to the contractor.
Ensure the scheduling, processing, and documentation of data delivery and implementation, using automation when appropriate.
Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance
5+ years of experience in IT or data management, and 10+ years of IT related experience.
Preferred Qualification(s)
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
Required Skills/Technologies
Strong data acumen with a focus on enterprise data governance, data standards, and data management best practices.
Develop and implement data strategies and projects that align with government IT governance policies and frameworks, ensuring data standardization, integrity, security, and compliance.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and process re-engineering proficiency.
Collaborate with government stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating these into actionable IT and data management solutions that improve enterprise operational efficiency.
Work closely with various IT, data management, cybersecurity, and policy teams to integrate data solutions and initiatives across government functions, promoting a cohesive approach to information sharing and compliance.
Conduct analysis of government systems and data management practices, identifying opportunities to enhance information sharing and data maturity best practices, and develop recommendations for executive management.
Establish and implement processes and procedures to effectively manage requirements.
Strong researcher with excellent writing and communication skills.
Experience working within federal government IT enterprise, interfacing with senior management, engineers, stakeholders, and implementation team members.
Knowledge of IT and data-related Executive Orders and applicable directives, policies, frameworks, and regulations.
Identify potential risks related to data management and IT systems, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the stability and reliability of government data assets.
Practical knowledge of the data lifecycle.
Work within a team but able to drive work independently.
Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
Experience developing executive briefings, project management reviews, and training presentations.
Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex IT data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
Agile/Scrum project experience.
Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, from managers to technical resources, to include the translation of business requirements into operational measures and reports.
Natural positive communicator both within the internal team and stakeholders across the business.
Team player who can represent the team across the business.
