The Opportunity:
As a Unit Level Intelligence (ULI) Toolkit Test Engineer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of the ULI product line prior to placement into the operational environment.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, strategies, and cases, executing manual and automated testing procedures, identifying and managing defects, developing and maintaining automated test scripts, conducting performance tests, collaborating with stakeholders, documenting test activities, identifying process improvements, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and mentoring other team members.
Responsibilities:
• Test Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases based on system requirements and design documents. Define test objectives, scope, and criteria for success.
• Test Design: Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data to validate system functionality. Design test scenarios that cover various use cases, edge cases, and potential failure points.
• Test Execution: Execute test cases manually and /or using automated testing tools. Monitor test execution, record results, and track defects using test management tools.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and report defects using defect tracking systems. Work closely with system administrators, engineers and help desk teams to reproduce, isolate, and verify fixes for defects.
• Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage. Utilize various automation fools and frameworks to support regression testing and continuous integration.
• Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to ensure the system meets performance criteria under expected load conditions. Analyze performance metrics and provide recommendations for optimization.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with project goals.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and defect reports. Prepare summary reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the testing process and suggest enhancements. Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and best practices.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure that testing activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies. Implement and adhere to quality assurance processes and methodologies.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior test engineers and other team members. Mentor team members on best practices in testing and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active DOD Top Secret SCI security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of Systems Testing Experience
• Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Desired :
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, QTP, Junit)
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner, JMeter).
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
