The DarkStar Group, a GRVTY Company is seeking a Data Scientist with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, and our benefits.

THE PROGRAM
The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest.

The Role
  • This Data Scientist will support a Sponsor office that collaborates with internal/external offices to curate and contextualize enterprise level information about Sponsor resources and activities in support of corporate metrics and increasing workforce effectiveness.
  • This position will provide data analysis support to address complex business and intelligence questions at an enterprise level and translate complex, technical findings into an easily understood narrative.
  • The candidate MUST have experience using Tableau and experience creating data visualization mockups, prototypes of visualizations, and experience documenting work processes and effectively demonstrating products to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using a data preparation tool, such as Tableau Prep, is preferred. Other skills/technologies that are desired include Python, SQL, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following disciplines: business analytics, statistics, data verification and validation, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience applying qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods to business analytics problems.
  • Demonstrated experience creating data visualization mockups, prototypes of visualizations, documenting work processes and effectively demonstrating products to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting data models and working with a variety of data sources and structures.
  • Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into project or system specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience with strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter with the ability to decomposing ambiguous problems into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated experience using Tableau, Power BI, or similar interactive data visualization software.
  • Demonstrated experience transforming, manipulating, and combining data using a programming language such as Python.
  • Demonstrated experience using a data preparation tool such as Tableau Prep Builder.
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel and SQL.

Desired Skills (Optional)
  • Demonstrated experience with data derived from technical missions, taskings, collection, processing, analysis, or dissemination.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Sponsor business or mission data, Sponsor applications, or Sponsor database structures.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's data handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with visualization tools such as Jupyter, Visio, Sharepoint, or Confluence.
  • Demonstrated experience with APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience using GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience using Python or R.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business analytics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Systems or 4 years of relevant data analysis experience with the IC or military may substitute in lieu of degree).
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing critical thinking and analytic judgements and applying programmatic, quantitative, and qualitative methods to identify patterns and relationships in disparate datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience using mathematical, statistical, or other data-driven analysis to address business questions.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with customers to coordinate requirements and resolve data questions.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently or as a member of a team to research, organize, and analyze information.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience working on several tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience providing analytical judgement and trend analysis based on research and comparisons with past products.
  • Demonstrated experience obtaining structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, synthesizing it, and presenting the results effectively and concisely in written and graphic form to internal and external stakeholders.
