Description:As a member of the Remote Sensing Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities team, the Strategy & Business Development Sr. Manager leads a business development (BD), capture, and cross-functional team of subject matter experts to identify, qualify, shape and win Remote Sensing contracts. Concurrently, this position provides necessary resources to support adjacent teams and cross-organizational business area growth initiatives. This role is accountable for shaping and winning business directly tied to a Long Range Plan through a balanced focus on customer values, industry competition, and the corporation's best interests. A key responsibility will be developing capture strategies including identification of new and continued business opportunities; development of business solutions supporting pursuit of opportunities; identification of potential customers; assessing competition; identifying and supporting supply chain teaming; supporting position-to-win assessments; and support in bid and proposal activities. This role will be called on to maintain ongoing interaction and collaboration with other mission areas, lines of business, and LM Business Areas to provide business development and capture support, as required.
Summary of Key Duties for this position -
• Lead business development and capture teams to secure new business opportunities
• Manage and care for a core group of business development and capture professionals
• Develop and maintain customer key stakeholder contact and engagement plans; leads and/or supports direct interface with customer key stakeholders to cultivate positive business relationships and establish customer intimacy
• Accountable to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporation's best interests.
• Develops capture strategies including business solution for pursuit of opportunities; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win; participates in bid and proposal activities.
• Responsible for leading and integrating the assigned cross-functional team and authority to direct team activities for the duration of the pursuit.
• Maintains ongoing interaction with cross organizational and adjacent business development teams and leaders
• Supports and oversees internal business operations requirements to include but not limited to developing long-range financial sales/growth forecasts; developing long-term portfolio growth strategies; and preparing and maintaining annual portfolio allowable and unallowable business expenditures (including direct and indirect labor utilization)
• Supports international strategy and business development teams to identify and support international new business
• Provide SME and representation on Remote Sensing and cross-organizational business area integrated product teams (IPTs).
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in business development and/or government acquisition processes
• Experience in developing and maintaining
continuous customer communication
• Experience operating within cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent
• Must have active TS/SCI to apply for this position

• Experience managing cost and schedule for complex projects/programs
• Experience in the Remote Sensing domain
• Experience developing complex proposal materials
• Experience identifying potential customers, competitive assessments, and position-to-win.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
