Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to support Fortune 500 and 1000 customers, government and DoD customers, and to excel within a fantastic team. The Lead Technical Architect for Service Infrastructure owns the entirety of service design, delivery and operational performance for services in this technical vertical. This role provides leadership and guidance to an Architecture and Engineering team, ensuring excellence in design and implementation, and an Operations team to ensure operational stability and reliability. This role owns and leads efforts to optimize existing infrastructure and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical strategies, a commitment to operational efficiency, and the ability to drive technical excellence across the service delivery team. This role required experience and exposure to technology services within the Service Infrastructure domain. These include Linux and Windows Servers, Server Virtualization, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage Infrastructure, DevOps and Automation, Management and Orchestration Tooling, and Identity, Credentials, and Access Management.
Responsibilities:
Technical Vision and Strategy:
- Develop and maintain the overall technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Desktop End User Experience, aligning with business goals and IT strategy
- Develop and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines for the Desktop End User Experience
Architectural Design and Implementation:
- Evangelize and ensure adherence to standard service delivery lifecycle framework
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Architecture and Engineering
Operational Excellence and Stability:
- Facilitate knowledge transfer across Architecture and Engineering and Operations
- Establish and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders across the organization to facilitate awareness and alignment of IT strategies and activities
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within and across teams
- Continuously evaluate and improve the Desktop End User Experience architecture and processes
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve the Desktop End User Experience architecture and processes
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team
Financial Awareness:
- Solid understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, cost management, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO)
The Lead Technical Architect must possess experienced expertise and a strong working knowledge of the following technical areas:
- Microsoft 365 (M365) Email and Collaboration
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)\
- Windows Client Operating Systems
- Desktop Management
- Client-side Application Management
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- File and Print Services
Qualifications:
- Must have, or able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- 7 or more years of experience in IT Service Infrastructure.
- 3 or more years in a lead architect or similar role
- Experience in directing the architecture and operations of Service Infrastructure in several large and complex organizations across government and/or commercial
- Deep technical expertise in one or more key service infrastructure technologies and a strong working knowledge of Windows Server OS, RHEL OS, VMWare, Azure, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, Stacker, GetLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Active Directory, Entra ID, and/or related technologies
- Proven experience in designing, implementing and operating Service Infrastructure technologies
- Deep understanding of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks
- Deep understanding of ITIL framework and best practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service release management
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences
- Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
- 8570 or 8410 compliant certifications
Desired Skills and Experience:
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification (Managing Professional preferred)
- Experience in a specific industry (e.g. DoD IT Operations)
- Project management experience
- ITIL Strategic Leader certification
Certifications:
