As a Sr Project Engineer, you'll assist in developing and implementing the strategy for multiple integrated plans for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform clean-sheet design of novel data and control systems architectures.
  • Conduct systems engineering, design, integration, modification, testing, and troubleshooting on avionics and test instrumentation systems.
  • Define, design, implement, and verify test data and sensor requirements for developmental prototypes.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RF systems, including VHF communications, ADS-B, GPS, and flight test telemetry systems.
  • Rapidly design and prototype RF spectrum analyzers and other test tools to resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct penetration testing and cybersecurity analysis on aircraft systems, developing and implementing novel test protocols
  • Interface with US Government customers and industry partners, leading design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
  • Present technical findings and program updates to senior management and stakeholders.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study
  • Typically, 12+ years of progressive technical experience
  • Expert knowledge of engineering principles and practice
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team
  • Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, system design, integration
  • Extensive experience in aerospace systems engineering, technical program management, and RF systems.
  • Proven leadership in managing large, multidisciplinary teams and high-budget projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in avionics, instrumentation, and systems integration.
  • Proficiency in designing and integrating complex RF systems and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with C++, Java, Python, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and penetration testing methodologies.
  • CISSP, CEH, PMP.
  • DAWIA Test & Evaluation Level III, DAWIA Program Management Level III.
  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Typically 6-8 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedure
  • Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP
  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standard
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as required to support program needs and customer engagements.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $189,761.74 - $260,922.39. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
