ASRC Federal is seeking Test Engineers to develop and execute software test plans to ensure adequate test coverage of software code releases. Design, develop, and execute manual & automated test cases and provide dashboards or reports to show results. Work closely with business analysts to understand the goal of the software and certify that the system meets business and functional requirements. Assist developers in analyzing and reproducing defects. Participate in reviews of product requirement specifications, UI mockups, system designs as part of the Scrum team. Understand various types of testing methodologies (white box, black box, positive, negative, boundary, and regression testing) and when those should be applied in a project.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure thorough coverage of software code releases.
  • Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate functionality.
  • Provide results through test dashboards or reports to ensure transparency of testing efforts.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to understand the software requirements and certify that the system meets business and functional goals.
  • Work closely with developers to analyze and reproduce defects, ensuring swift issue resolution.
  • Participate in product requirement reviews, UI mockups, and system design discussions as part of the Agile Scrum team.
  • Apply various testing methodologies, such as white box, black box, positive, negative, boundary, and regression testing, as appropriate for the project.
  • Maintain a high level of quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Four years' experience providing software testing support including validate requirements, develop test plans, and analyze and communicate code defects to the development team.
  • Experience in quality assurance test planning, test case design, and execution.
  • Experience writing and executing SQL statements, using database views, and stored procedures to view, create, and modify test data.
  • Experience creating test plans including analysis of proposed software changes, potential change impacts, and the types of testing needed for the release scope (manual tests, automated tests, service/API tests, UAT, regression, etc.).
  • Familiar with MS DevOps Product/Sprint backlogs, PBIs/Bugs, Test Plans, Test Cases, and Pipelines.
  • Comfortable deploying web applications and databases with Azure DevOps pipelines (or similar) and verifying configurations in MS Windows Server 2019 and IIS.
  • Experience creating, editing, and organizing automated test scripts with Selenium, ReadyAPI, or similar tools.
  • Comfortable reviewing error logs and browser debuggers to help troubleshoot issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Four years' experience providing software testing support including validate requirements, develop test plans, and analyze and communicate code defects to the development team.
  • Candidates without a college degree will be considered, but must have 8 years of equivalent work experience.

The selected candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holders with a minimum of three-years concurrent U.S residency
