As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as the primary consultant and advisor to the senior leadership and personnel in DTRA Albuquerque and all of its outlying offices and detachments on a wide variety of security and CI issues.
- Serves as an integral member of the Albuquerque Senior Leadership Group and the focal point for matters related to security and CI for the Albuquerque population and those at all the associated outlying sites.
- Functions as the technical authority in assignments requiring the application of new theories and developments to security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security methods, technology, or procedures.
- Oversees a security and counterintelligence staff that provides guidance and knowledge to support decision-makers in achieving overall security objectives and priorities.
- Comprehends Agency strategic vision and institutes effective security policy and guidance.
- Executes highly complex CI and security programs (AT/FP, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Special Access Programs (SAP), operations, foreign disclosure, visitor control, physical, information, and industrial).
- Exercises broad responsibility and authority for planning and managing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of assigned operations and communicating the security mission, vision, and values to employees in Albuquerque and outlying sites.
- Develops/modifies standards to ensure that personnel, information, and physical security practices meet acceptable guidelines.
- Determines compliance with building security standards and ensures intrusion detection systems perform as required.

- Supervising and evaluating federal employees.
