JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Emulation Engineer/vSphere administrator who enjoys hands-on work with vSphere and ESXi hosts to work on a dynamic, fast-paced team supporting a medium sized
vSphere deployment. You should be ready to jump in to help design and manage an
updated network using Omnissa Horizon with vSphere VDI. You will assist with the design
and development of a new updated virtualization solution which will include a combination
of virtualization platforms and technologies. The cluster supports an operational element
and you should be ready to assist with ad-hoc requests for unique technical requirements
and coming up with creative solutions to difficult scenarios. This is not just another vSphere
/ linux system administrator position and will require both problem solving and self-
motivation in order to help support the mission and achieve operational objectives.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position will require a solid understanding of vSphere and linux administration as you
help design, build and test new systems employed by our customer to support ongoing
operations. You will function as a Linux systems SME to help them design a system that
both meets operational requirements and system security plans. Successful candidates will
know how to install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems as well as vSphere
clusters and their supporting elements. They will analyze and resolve problems associated
with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications and software.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Experience as a vSphere Systems Administrator
• Experience operating in a virtual environment such as VMware vSphere / ESXi, or KVM
• Experience with Omnissa Horizon, vSphere and VDI.
• Strong customer service and technical writing skills
• Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl and/or Bash.
• Solid understanding of Linux logging, network traffic analysis, SPLUNK, network traffic
redirection (i.e. iptables).  

• Understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g. Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, etc.)
and the ability to research the latest technological developments in the relevant operating
systems to identify impact and anticipate changes to the organization's operating
environment. 
• Experience in the design, implementation, procurement, tradecraft, or maintenance of
various layers of network infrastructure. 
• Candidates must be organized, detail-orientated, a team player, and willing/eager to learn.

DESIRED SKILLS
• Experience with Windows and network administration
• Familiarity with web proxies (iptables, mod_proxy, digital certificates, etc.), common web
servers (i.e. Apache, NGINX), SSL certificates, and DNS records.
• Experience with installing, configuring and maintaining physical server hardware
• Experience monitoring network activity and network traffic redirection. 
• Experience with KVM and/or Proxmox
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Ansible, Salt and/or Puppet
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Rancher and/or Harvester
