JOB DESCRIPTION

ASRC Federal is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator - Intermediate to support their work with the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) Chief Information Officer (CIO) G6 at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise systems across classified and unclassified environments to ensure system availability, security, and performance.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Windows and/or Linux environments, Active Directory, group policy management, patching, and user account management. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to maintain compliance with DoD and Army standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networked systems.
  • Administer Active Directory, group policies, and user account provisioning.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply system patches and updates to maintain compliance with DoD security standards.
  • Perform routine system backups and restoration activities.
  • Respond to system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
  • Support audits, inspections, and security reviews in accordance with Army and DoD requirements.
  • Coordinate with network and cybersecurity teams to support system integrity.
  • Provide Tier II/III support for end-user and enterprise system issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience as a systems administrator or similar technical role.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux administration.
  • Experience with Active Directory and group policy management.
  • Experience with managing SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with patch management, backups, and system monitoring tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience supporting the RMF 2.0 process, through applying STIGs and providing completed CKLs, assisting with IAVM/A remediation strategies and reporting, and assisting with the development of POA&Ms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with Army or DoD IT environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and enterprise service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

  • SECRET Clearance


EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution
  • An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the degree. In this instance, the candidate will be required to hold one of the certifications listed as preferred below.

CERTIFICATION
  • One of the following certifications is preferred: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP
