Duties

  • Monitor compliance with Army and DoD force management directives to ensure organizational policies align with higher headquarters guidance.
  • Advise leadership on the impacts of stationing and modernization decisions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Support reviews of force management processes to identify efficiencies, streamline operations, and improve readiness.
  • Validate data related to force structure and modernization programs to ensure accuracy and alignment with command priorities.
  • Evaluate proposals for resource adjustments to determine their feasibility and operational impact on SDDC missions.
  • Identify requirements for organizational improvements by analyzing force structure, modernization programs, and operational gaps.
  • Track initiatives related to force structure changes to ensure timely implementation and alignment with strategic objectives.
Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Critical Sensitive position requiring the incumbent to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5) investigation with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Assessing policies to ensure alignment with DoD, Joint, and Army transformation initiatives, identifying areas requiring updates or adjustments; (2) Providing oversight on stationing programs to guarantee facilities and resources support the highest quality of life for soldiers, civilians, and families; (3) Drafting policies to standardize procedures for force modernization, stationing, and equipment fielding across an organization; and Identifying solutions for force design challenges by analyzing current capabilities and future requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, at the GS-13 level, you must meet the Specialized experience requirement alone-- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
