A leading defense contractor is seeking a Senior Pega Developer with 12+ years of professional experience to support a large-scale Unified Engagement Environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. Compensation
The anticipated annual salary range is $150,000–$200,000, depending on relevant skills, directly related experience, geographic factors, and potential contractual stipulations.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including system engineers, software developers, DevOps, and UI/UX specialists—to design, implement, and manage workflow solutions on the Pega Platform within a major enterprise application.
Ensure workflows meet security, accessibility, and performance requirements.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 emergency support (approximately one week every 6–8 weeks), with an additional 4 hours billable during the on-call week.
Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance and direction as needed.
Address complex technical challenges with innovative and forward-thinking solutions.
Contribute to high-level project teams, offering expert technical input and alternative approaches.
Work independently toward long-term objectives, driving initiatives from concept to completion.
Apply advanced software engineering principles to develop new methodologies, architectures, and solutions.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering, covering areas such as requirements analysis, software development, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated expertise in Pega development.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent polygraph date required; must be within the past 7 years).
U.S. citizenship at the time of application.
Not open to CCA candidates.
Desired Skills (experience in at least four areas preferred):
Development Areas: Front-end UI, middle-tier, back-end, full stack, data modeling, DevOps, SOA, or wrapping legacy systems as web services.
Commercial Technologies: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Git, Node.js, SQL, RESTful/SOAP Web Services, MongoDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, and other listed tools.
Government Technologies: NiFi, PKI administration, Xacta, and other agency-specific systems.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Substitutions: 4 years of additional software engineering experience in place of a degree, or a Master’s degree in place of 2 years of experience.
