Mid. Data Engineer (Software Development)
Description:
- Designs, implements, and operates data management systems for intelligence needs.
- Designs how data will be stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed by different data regimes and digital systems.
- Works with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.
- Plans, designs, and optimize data throughput and query performance. Participates in the selection of backend database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.), their configuration and utilization, and the optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure to support the actual content, volume, ETL, and periodicity of data to support the intended kinds of queries and analysis to match expected responsiveness.
- Develops/Maintains/updates/refines the database.
- Maintains ISSO certification.
- Provides technical expertise in performing IT activities, to include advanced concepts of data exploration, analysis, and synthesis.
- Develops and executes on a wide range of activities that include research, application, and support of data science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform, and/or present information.
- Performs key performance indications on data science initiatives and keeps organizational leadership apprised of the advances and applicability to programs.
- Evaluates use of technologies to enhance mission capabilities.
- Leads enhanced efforts in the development of database capabilities and computer visualization systems.
Security Clearance:
- Security clearance required TS/SCI with CI POLY or the ability to obtain CI POLY.
Job Requirements
Desired experiences:
- At least 8 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Desired education:
- Bachelor's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- An additional 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, for a total of 12 years of experience in the specific labor category, may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
