The Raytheon Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) department is looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer, located in Tewksbury, MA

This is an onsite role

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of simple to complex cables and harnesses for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.

Drawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust interconnection design solutions and resolve technical challenges.

Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.

Support and participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and support trade studies to make sound technical decisions.

Design Radio Frequency, copper, and fiber optic cables.

Working with manufacturing and suppliers to evaluate technical change requests

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a BS in mechanical engineering with five (5)+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with minimum three (3) years designing and developing cables and harnesses preferably for use in Military environments

Experience designing cables, harnesses and connectors for defense or commercial systems.

Strong CAD design experience (CREO, AutoCAD preferred)

Experience with PDM or similar product data management tool

Knowledge of MIL-Spec Radio Frequency and Fiber Optic cables, cable assemblies, wires and connectors.

Experience with CAD design tools or related product data management tools

The ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or hardware systems design

Experience with manufacturing, testing and troubleshooting for various types of cable assemblies

Experience with modeling and routing of cables and harnesses using CREO

Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications

Self-motivated and results orientated

Reliability or failure analysis experience

Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex user requirements.

Ability to achieve results with a minimum of conflicts and within schedule.

Demonstrated team player, self-driven leader with excellent collaboration skills.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Familiarity with Configuration and Data Management

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project)

Experience supporting bid and proposal effort

Experience with Earned Value Management and Project planning

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
