Communication Specialist (TS/SCI) - ONSITE
Location: Reston, VA.

We are actively seeking an TS/SCI cleared Communication Specialist with editing and knowledge management skills to support our clients at Defense Intelligence Agency's Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Qualified candidates will support their mission to identify and address vulnerabilities, preventing waste, fraud, and abuse, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
This role will report onsite five days per week.
Work Description:
Support DIA OIG with editorial, communication, and Knowledge management support to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of PIG reports and publications. This role involves reviewing, editing, and formation critical documents, engaging with stakeholders, and maintaining editorial standards that align with OIG's mission and DIA's correspondence and style guidelines.

Responsibilities: The Communication Specialist will support tasks such as:
Editorial & Communications Support
- Review, edit, and proofread high-level reports and publications to ensure 95%+ accuracy.
- Ensure documents conform to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Style Manual, classification guidelines, and internal editorial standards.
- Identify and correct grammatical errors, passive voice, and inconsistencies in formatting.
- Engage directly with OIG personnel and leadership to recommend revisions and gather necessary information.
- Ghostwrite or edit executive-level communications, including emails and correspondences.
- Author briefings, SOPs, reports, and various official documents.
Document & Report Production
- Lead the editing and production of critical reports such as:
- Semiannual Reports to Congress
- Top Management Challenges
- Emerging Risk Reports
- Annual Plans
- Track and coordinate the full lifecycle of OIG products-from initial editing through publication.
- Design and integrate visuals, charts, and infographics to enhance report quality.
- Review and update office templates and document formats.
Knowledge & Information Management
- Develop and implement knowledge management strategies to enhance information sharing, documentation, and retention within OIG.
- Organize and maintain digital repositories, including reports, templates, editorial guides, and reference materials.
- Curate and manage content for the internal OIG webpage to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and relevance.
Internal Communication & Leadership
- Compile division-level data to produce a regular newsletter for the OIG workforce.
- Lead monthly meetings and briefings focused on editing workflows, publication timelines, and process improvements.
- Maintain and regularly update internal style and writing guides.
Requirements:
- Top Secret/SCI security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in professional writing, editing, or publication management, preferably within a government or military context.
- Proven ability to edit and format complex documents for high-level audiences.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat).
- Familiarity with classification marking protocols and secure information handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing editorial calendars and coordinating cross-functional inputs.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, web content management systems, or internal knowledge-sharing platforms.
